Abstract

Method for protecting reservoirs in plastics material, especially movable reservoirs, against the accumulation of static electricity comprises distributing over the surface of the reservoir, or pref. incorporating in the thickness of the plastic material, of at least one network of electrical conductors, in such a manner that the metal mass is distributed in correspondence with the mass of plastics, in order to cause a continuous discharge of the static electricity tending to accumulate, the metal network being connected with both the mass and witih the earth. The method effectively prevents the accumulation of a static charge on the plastics container. The method is especially useful for the protection of tankers and tank wagons made from plastics material.
