Abstract

Provision is made for channels containing cooling water, an interior cylindrical casing and an exterior cylindrical casing formed by the assembly of raised segment components. A shaped bar extends between two annular segments so as to serve as a compartment bulkhead between two adjacent vertical cooling channels. A stack has annular segments of the exterior casing connected directly and rigidly with the shaped bars. Radial and axial expansion is rendered possible by covers which are rigidly connected to the interior casing extending over the exterior face of the interior casing in the longitudinal direction of the shaped bars and guiding the shaped bars with certain amount of play. Advantage: prevision of compartment bulkheads serves to maintain the cooling channel section in a ready state, and to act as supports for maintaining the assembly of the interior and exterior walls. Use: principally for steel mill converters.
