Abstract

Rotary kiln driers with improved heat transfer through the dried materials. G2-. Are provided internally with radially extending vanes whose tips terminate either in the centre or are provided with hooked portions, the former vanes or the hooked portions being provided with apertures so that the tumbled drying material by fallying through the apertures to the subjacent vanes is exposed for a longer period to the action of the drying gases. Arrangement of vanes increases the rate of heat transfer through the material to be dried and therefore the rate of drying in the rotary kiln.
