Cpds. of formula (I) (claimed) R1,R2,R3 = H, nitro, (lower)alkylamino, di(lower) alkylamino, (lower)alkanoylamino, amino, OH, (lower)alkanoyloxy, 1-6C alkyl, lower alkoxy, sulphamyl, Cl, I, Br, F or CF3 Z = lower alkyl, 4-7C cycloalkyl, monohalo(lower) alkyl, CHCl2, CCl3, 2-6C alkenyl, n = 0-3 integral R4,R5,R6 = H, NO2, di(lower)alkylamino, lower alkanoylamino, lower alkanoyloxy, 1-6C alkyl, lower alkoxy, sulphamyl, Cl, I, Br, F or CF3 X = H or non-toxic cation e.g. Na, K, Ca etc., NH4+, and substd. ammonium cations, e.g. cations of non-toxic amines such as triethylamine, procaine, dibenzylamine etc. (I) are antibacterial agents effective against gram negative and gram positive bacteria esp. Pseudomonas genus; nutritional supplements in animal feeds; therapeutic agents in poultry and animals.
