Abstract

Process for fixing dyes on synthetic fibres or materials contg. them, by steaming under pressure, without crease formation, with simultaneous fixing of the fibres. The unfixed textile material, foularded with a soln. of dispersion of dye, is passed into a vaporiser under steam pressure, over rotating perforated drum(s), whose interior(s) is (are) aspirated. Steam pressure is 0.5-3, pref. 1.5-2.5 ats. for polyesters. The process is esp. useful for knitted and meshed fabrics as it is performed almost without tension, and consequently without distortion of the stitches.
