Abstract

Guanidines of formula (I) where R is tetrahydrofuryl or tetrahydropyranyl, X is alkylene, alkyleneoxy (is not >3C), together with their acid-addition salts with mineral acids are antihypertensives agents. They may be prepd. by either (a) R-X-NH2 + NH=C(SCH3)NH2 right arrow (I) or (b) R-X-NH2 + NH2-CN right arrow (I).
