Abstract

Yarn is in loops or coils on an endless conveyor belt which is permeable to air and advances continuously. The loops overlap. The belt passes into a treatment enclosure. The yarn is fed to the belt through a downward-pointing tube which revolves around its axis, is curved, and has at its peripheral end a yarn extraction means. The yarn is then pushed towards the belt by gravity and by an air stream to form the loops/coils, avoiding rubbing as far as possible. Preferably, a pulley at the end of the tube has rim of elastomer, pref. rubber.
