Description

Sweat tape for headgear.
The invention relates to a sweat protection tape for headgear of all kinds.
This sweat protection tape differs from the sweat protection tapes produced until now, either in leather or imitation leather, in that it is composed of a fabric in the manufacture of which elastic textile threads were used in chain. An elastic thread or any other thread can also be used in the weft. It is particularly advantageous for the elastic yarn used to be a looped yarn made of an entirely synthetic material, such as, for example, the looped yarn which is available on the market under the mark Hélanca. It has been found more suitable to use a floating weave, preferably satin, and to weave the ribbon conically, that is to say so that one of the longitudinal selvages of a piece of ribbon is more short than the other. With respect to the already known protective tapes against perspiration, made of leather, the protective tape against perspiration according to the invention has the advantage of adapting, by its elasticity and its extensibility, to the shape of the headgear and in particular to the shape of the head of the person who wears it and thus allows the hat or any other headgear to fit better on the head. In addition, due to the structure of its fabric and its material, it has an excellent absorption capacity. Finally, the conical weave allows the ribbon to be placed in the hat or any other headwear without having to cut it in a special way or to conform it by ironing it.
Two samples of the tape that is the subject of the invention were deposited at the INPI, in Paris, to serve the intelligence of the present description.
Sample I is a conically woven satin ribbon, the warp of which consists of fully synthetic loop yarn. The ribbon is sewn to the inside edge of the headgear at its longest edge.
Sample II is, in its method of weaving, a ribbon similar to Sample I. It is distinguished from it only by a particularly inelastic seam tape which is on the longest edge of the ribbon.
Between the actual fabric of the ribbon and this tape for sewing is attached a piping worked with an artificial thread or a similar thread which gives this last ribbon an additional hold. This ribbon is sewn upside down by its sewing band at the inside edge of the hat or any other blanket and then tucked into the headgear.
