Figure 8 is a perspective view of the bottom protector before the installation of the rubber strap; Figure 9 is a partial sectional view of the upper edge of the side strip equipped with the rubber strap; Figure 10 is a corresponding elevational view; Figure 11 is a partial section on a large scale along XII-XII (fig. 8) after fitting the rubber strap; Figure 12 shows the article finished and shod. According to the method which is the subject of the invention, a sheet of synthetic foam 1 is used on which is fixed by any known method, for example by sewing or by gluing, a non-slip fabric 2 of the kind that is knitted to make stockings. . The sheet 1 is preferably made of polyurethane foam, while the knit 2 is obtained from yarns of a super-polyamide. In the composite sheet thus produced (fig.
II. Protège-bas, pantoufles d'appartement ou autres produits chaussants analogues obtenus par la mise en u̇vre du procédé décrit sous I.1), a sole A is cut. Of course, this cutting is preferably carried out in series by means of a saw working on a large number of composite sheets 1-2 superimposed and clamped together. Furthermore, a profiled strip 3, the width of which is variable and corresponds to a roughly in the form of a sinusoidal arc, is cut out of a non-slip fabric of the kind used to constitute the stockings. This cutting is also preferably carried out with a saw on a stack of a large number of superimposed fabrics. On one of the ends 3a of the profiled strip 3, a tab 4 cut from a thin sheet of polyurethane of the type designated in FIG. 1 by the reference 1 is then sewn through the middle. end 3a of strip 3 above the end of the heel of sole A, then the adjacent edges of these elements 3 and A are sewn all around the sole. This seam can preferably be constituted by a simple overlock and, when it is completed, the other end 3b of the strip 3 is connected to the end 3a (fig. 8). During all these operations, the tongue 4 remains directed outwards. Then placed above the upper edge of the strip 3, an endless rubber strap B which has the particularity of being flat and made with a very small thickness. By way of example, the height 5 of this bracelet may be close to three millimeters while its thickness 6 is substantially equal to six tenths of a millimeter. The relatively large height of the strap B makes it possible to give it a sufficiently strong elastic reaction while its small thickness 6 makes it imperceptible to wear, in particular when the stocking protector is used in a shoe. This bracelet B being placed against the upper edge of the strip 3, it is sewn there by means of a loop 7 (fig. 9 and 10). The finished article is presented in the manner shown in FIG. 11, and it suffices to turn it over to bring inside the overlock 8 which connects the strip 3 to the sole A. Simultaneously, the tongue 4 is now placed at the inside of the stocking protector, directly in contact with the user's heel. Finally, the layer of run-proof fabric 2 which had been previously placed on the internal face of the sole A is found to constitute the outer underside of the stocking protector. When the user puts on this article (FIG. 12), it is held in place by the elasticity of the bracelet 8 which closes the lateral band 3 on the top of the foot. Furthermore, the sole of the foot is in contact with the synthetic foam 1 which gives the article a very pleasant wearing, while walking is performed directly on the underside of the sole, that is to say on the run-proof fabric 2 whose resistance gives the whole a great solidity. It will be understood that the use of the endless strap B makes it possible to give the stockings protectors according to the invention an impeccable finish while avoiding any unpleasant local extra thickness. This stocking protector constitutes in itself a real article of footwear and it can be used, for example, as an indoor slipper. In this case, it is preferably produced in a lingerie shade while, on the contrary, it is colored in the same shade as the corresponding stocking when it is intended to be worn in a shoe. It should also be understood that the foregoing description has been given only by way of example and that it in no way limits the scope of the invention. tion which one would not escape by replacing the details of execution described by all other equivalents. In particular, one would not depart from the scope of the invention by modifying the profile of the tongue 4 and / or the method of fixing the strap B to the upper part of the profiled strip 3. SUMMARY I. Process for the manufacture of the covers - stockings or other similar footwear mainly remarkable in that a sole under which is fixed or glued a non-release fabric is cut from a sheet of synthetic foam, after which a profiled strip of non-release fabric is sewn around this sole, cut according to a pattern roughly sinusoidal blank and previously provided at one end with a foam tongue forming a heel pad, the upper edge of the article thus produced being finally equipped with an endless flat rubber strap which is maintained by means of a sewn cord or an overlock. II. Hosiery, apartment slippers or other similar footwear obtained by carrying out the process described under I.
