Abstract

The method uses a heat storage system consisting of a high thermal capacity storage medium, an electrical heating element, input and output controller by which the input energy is at one rate during a first period in which the room temperature is lower than a reference value, and at a lower rate when the temperature is higher than another reference value. The storage heater consists of a thermal storage block (1) through which is wound a heating element (2) contained within a thick insulation jacket (3) inside a housing (7). Heat is extracted by means of the fan (5) forcing air through ducts (4) through the storage block and into the room. During the charging period a first reference temperature is below a second reference temperature and during the room heating period a value above the second value is set.
