Abstract

The invention concerns a gear brake system for goods wagons, in particular for four-axle tank wagons which are used for cross-border traffic and in which the braking system must be adapted to two different operating pressures and lever gear changes. This task is solved by arranging in the pneumatic part of each braking system a control valve 41 and an auxiliary air container 42, the control valves 41 for both systems which as in the case of the auxiliary air systems 42 fitted for them can be shut off from the main air system 40, can be alternately connected to the brake cylinder 1 in the same way as a three-way valve 50. The brake system's mechanical part between the horizontal equalising levers 8, 9 is fitted with draw shafts which can be fixed to alternative linkages for adapting power and lever gearing to the said brake system. In addition, with the moving piece 5 lying on both parts of the main brake rod 7, it is possible to connect the main brake rod 7 to the bogie's change points of the differentially situated brake system, relative to length and height, to suit normal and broad gauge. <IMAGE>
