Abstract

Doctoring apparatus employs a doctor blade (20) supported by a holder (12) which is oscillated and shifted longitudinally in relation to a web of material (W) on a cylinder (10). The blade (20) is supplied as a coil from a cartridge (23). A back-up blade (48) bears on the doctor blade (20) with a loading force which can be varied along the doctor blade (20). <IMAGE>
