SHELF SYSTEM FOR Vans

The invention relates to a shelf system for package work and corresponding goods vehicles as defined in the preamble of claim 1.

Today, closed vans mainly use standard four-legged straight shelves that are attached to the floor of the trunk and possibly to the walls or ceiling. Since the walls 10 of the vans are always somewhat round at least at their upper ends, the shelves have to be placed relatively far from the walls and thus take up space.

The object of the invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks. In particular, it is an object of the invention 15 to provide a new type of shelving system which can be individually adapted and fastened to all closed vans as a space-saving and sturdy unit.

With respect to the features characteristic of the invention, reference is made to the claims.

The shelving system according to the invention, i.e. one shelving unit according to the invention, comprises only two length-adjustable legs fixed at the lower end to the luggage compartment, its floor, articulated mounting hinges at the upper ends of the legs to secure the upper ends to the upper body frame and shelves at the shelves fastening means for fastening the shelf levels between the legs in an adjustable direction in the depth direction of the shelf.

The shelving system according to the invention has several advantages over the prior art. The length-adjustable legs can always be adjusted to a length suitable for each van model and can be attached to the floor of the boot from the lower ends and to the upper body frame housings with articulated upper spindles, which vary somewhat in different car models. Another advantage is the use of only two 2,89233 feet, which are attached to the floor of the luggage compartment, eg in front of and behind the wheel arch, so that they do not reduce the floor space between the wheel arches. Another advantage is the adjustability of the shelf level mounting. In this case, each shelf level can be individually fastened between the legs in the depth direction as deep as the shapes of the luggage compartment wall allow. This makes each shelf level as edged as possible and space-saving. In addition, in the system 10 it is possible to use shelves of different depths, so that, if desired, the front edges of the shelf levels are in the same line. Other advantages and additional applications of the invention will become apparent from the following description, with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows a shelf structure according to the invention mounted in the boot 20 of a van.

The shelf system according to the invention shown in the drawing comprises two legs 1 of rectangular cross-section, which are telescopically adjustable in length. The legs have a lower part 25 15 fixed to the floor 8 of the load compartment by means of a fastening flange 7 and an upper part 16 which moves inside the lower part telescopically and can be locked in place by the locking pin 11 to the desired length.

At the end of the upper part 16 there is a fastening spindle 30 3 with a transverse joint 2 which pivotally connects the support pin to the upper part 16 and at the other end of the support pin a fastening plate 9 which can be fastened, e.g. screwed, to the van trunk body 4. The support pin 10 also has threads. by which its length 35 can be adjusted by turning it relative to the joint 2 or the mounting plate 9. In this way, regardless of the height of the boot of the van and the curvature of the walls, as well as the location of the body 3 89233, the legs can always be secured in place in the boot at a distance from each other.

Both legs 1 have a plurality of fastening holes 13 along their entire length, to which the shelf levels 5 are fastened as follows. At both ends of the shelf levels there are height-end ends 17 with two horizontal rows of holes 12. The fastening holes 13 in the legs 1 are located at distances 10 from each other corresponding to the distance between the rows of holes. In this way, the shelf levels 5 can be fastened and locked in place on the legs 1 with locking pins 14 to the desired heights. Since each shelf level 5 is fastened to the legs 1 at both ends by two overlapping locking pins 14, the shelf level 15 remains rigidly in place between the legs 1. Since the end pieces of the shelf levels have rows 12 of holes extending substantially the entire width of the end, the position of the shelves in the depth direction between the legs can always be adjusted so that the shelf is substantially attached to the trunk wall and thus takes up as little space as possible in the middle of the trunk.

Since the legs 1 are supported on the floor 8 by fastening flanges 7 so that the legs only rest on the flanges, the shelf can be completely removed and reassembled only by removing and fastening the hinge pins 2 in the upper parts 16. Thus, only the fastening flanges are attached to the car. 7 and mounting plates 9 with pins 10.

As shown, the walls of the luggage compartment usually curve from the top inwards, in which case at least the top shelf has to be installed in a different line than the lower shelves. Regarding the installation of the legs 1, it should also be noted that their attachment point on the floor 8 is behind the line 19 defined by the front edge of the wheel housing 18 on the wall side 35a, whereby the legs do not narrow the transport space between the wheel housings.

Claims (6)

A shelving system for vans, the system comprising 5 legs supported by the car's luggage compartment and shelf supports supported by the legs, characterized in that the shelving system comprises two length-adjustable legs (1) attached to the luggage compartment at their lower ends by pivots at the upper ends of the legs (2) fastening spindles (3) for fastening the upper ends 10 to the trunk frame housing (4) and corresponding fastening means (6) in the shelf levels (5) and legs for fastening the shelf levels between the legs in an adjustable depth direction in the shelf. Shelving system according to claim 1, characterized in that the lower end of the legs (1) comprises fastening flanges (7) with which the legs are fastened to the floor (8) of the luggage compartment.
