Abstract

A filter arrangement for purification of a gaseous medium consists of a number of layers of filter elements 3, 4 in the form of disks. These are enclosed in a cavity 2 and lie at a specified spacing from each other and have an inlet side, at which the medium flows into the filter elements, and an outlet side, at which the medium flows out of the filter elements. The filter elements are connected on their inlet side via a first space 13, 14 to an inlet to the cavity and via a second space 15, 16 on the outlet side to an outlet 6 from the cavity, in which said first and second spaces 13, 14, 15, 16 are bounded with respect to each layer of the filter element by a sloping wall 17, 20, 21 so that the first space is given a successively diminishing cross-sectional area when viewed from inlet 5, whereas the second space is given a successively increasing cross-sectional area. <IMAGE>
