Claims (3)

1. Koppiingsenhet, vilken är avsedd att anslutas till en datatransmissionsanordnings (DCE) eller terminal- 5 anordnings parallellanslutning, vilken omfattar ett fler-tal parallella inkommande och utgäende timing-, styr- och datasignaler, varvid koppiingsenheten omfattar multiplex-orer (52, 54) för multiplexering av de utgäende parallell-formiga anslutningssignalerna till en sekvensformig signal 10 för sändning till en sekvensformig överföringsförbindelse och för demultiplexering av den frän nämnda sekvensformiga överföringsförbindelse mottagna serieformiga signalen till inkommande parallellformiga signaler, känneteck-n a d därav, att multiplexorerna (52, 54) är anslutna till 15 de parallellformiga anslutningssignalerna via ett I/O medel (51) med en I/O-linje (L1...L16) för varje anslutningssig-nal, och att ätminstone en del av i/O-linjerna kan automa-tiskt väljas till ingäng eller utgäng och/eller anslutas till ätminstone tvä alternative ingängar eller utgängar i 20 multiplexorerna (52, 54), för ästadkommande av en annorlun-da korskoppling i enlighet därmed, om koppiingsenheten an-sluts tili terminalanordningen (DTE) eller tili datatrans-missionsanordningen (DCE).
