Keksinnön kohteena on laite päällekkäisten termoplastisten muovinauho-jen yhteenhitsaamiseksi paineella ja kitkalämmöllä, johon laitteeseen kuuluu kiinteät ja liikkuvat nauhan pituussuunnassa olevat kitkaken-gät, jotka ovat puristettavissa yhteen ja jolloin liikkuvat kitkaken-gät ovat kierrettävissä hitsaustasoon nähden kohtisuoran akselin ympäri. Tällainen laite tunnetaan saksalaisesta patenttijulkaisusta 28 02 034.
Esillä olevan keksinnön tehtävänä on muodostaa tällainen laite niin, että on mahdollista muunnella hitsausalueen pituutta ja sovittaa se nauhan mittojen ja aikaansaatavan kitkalämmön mukaan, joka taas on erilainen eri nauhamateriaaleille.
Tämä tehtävä ratkaistaan keksinnön mukaisesti siten, että laitteeseen kuuluu vain yksi liikkuva kitkakenkä, joka pidättelee yhtä nauhanpäätä ja kiertyy yhdessä sen kanssa ja jonka vastinpinta tätä nauhanpäätä vasten on suurempi kuin hitsausalue.
Tällä muodolla on se etu, että ylempää, liikkuvaa nauhanpäätä liikkuvan kitkakengän edestakaisen liikkeen aikana ei rasiteta siinä määrin 69592 2 kuin kahden liikkuvan kenkäosan ollessa kyseessä, jotka toisiaan kohden olevilla päillään suorittavat samansuuntaisliikettä. Koska edestakaisin liikkuvan kenkäosan ollessa kyseessä liike kiertoakse-liin nähden tulee yhä pienemmäksi ja vähenee nollaan, jakautuu myös kitkalärapö vain yhden liikkuvan kitkakengän ollessa kyseessä epätasaisesti pitkin hitsausalueen pituutta niin, että nauhan heikkenemistä päävyöhykkeellä ei esiinnv. Koska kävtetään vain yhtä kitkakenkää, voidaan ylempää nauhanpäätä siirtää enemmän tai vähemmän kauas liikkuvan kitkakengän alapuolelle. Täten on mahdollista sovittaa hitsausalueen pituus kulloinkin käytettävän nauhan mittojen ja ainesominäisuuksien sekä kestettävän vetojännityksen mukaan. Tätä varten voi kitkakenkien toisiaan kohden olevilla pinnoilla olla leveydeltään säädettävät urat. Kitkakenkien urien levevttä voidaan säätää kiilalistoilla, jotka muodostavat kulloisenkin uran sivureu-nan ja voidaan lukita uriin eri asentoihin. Tätä varten voidaan urien sivupintoihin järjestää hammastuksia tai niiden nohjiin nastoja.
Keksinnön muut tunnusmerkit ja edut ilmenevät seuraavasta selityksestä, patenttivaatimuksista sekä keksinnön erästä suoritusesimerk-kiä esittävistä oheisista piirustuksista, joissa:

Kokonaisuudessaan viitenumerolla 10 kuvattu laite muovinauhojen hit-saamiseksi muodostuu tässä vain katkoviivoin esitetvstä kotelosta 50, jonka etureunassa on kiinteä kitkakenkä 15. Tämän kiinteän kitkakengän yläpuolella on liikkuva kitkakenkä 16, joka on kiertyvästi laakeroitu akselitapilla 25 pystyakselin ympäri. Kiinteä kitkakenkä 15 ja liikkuva kitkakenkä 16 ulottuvat keskenään vhdistettävien muovinauhojen 17 ja 18 suunnassa (kuviot 2 - 4). Alempi nauha 18 11 3 69592 on tällöin kiinteän kitkakengän 15 urassa 19, jonka uran leveyttä B voidaan vaihdella ja sovittaa päällysnauhan leveyden mukaan. Samaan tapaan on liikkuvan kitkakengän 16 alapuolelle järjestetty ura 22, jossa ylempi nauhanpää 17 on. Myös tämän uran 22 leveyttä voidaan säädellä.
Urien 19 ja 22 leveyden B säätämiseksi on järjestetty kiilalistat 51 ja 52, jotka lepäävät urien 19 ja 22 kartiomaisella sivupinnalla 53, 54 ja joiden ki i läpi nnoi 11 a on hainmastus 55, jolla ne tarttuvat urien 19, 22 kiilamaisten sivupintojen 53, 54 vastaaviin hammastuksiin. Jotta kiilalistat 51 ja 52 eivät putoaisi, ne voidaan kiinnittää puikoilla tai ruureilla (ei esitetty) urien pohjiin.
Kuten erityisesti kuvioista 1 ja 3 ilmenee, on liikkuvassa kitka-kengässä 16 vaakasuuntaisrako 30, johon kiertokanki 36 tarttuu, joka kiertokanki puolestaan on laakeroitu liikkuvaan kitkakenkään 16 tapilla 56, ja sitä käyttää toisesta päästä 57 epäkesko 37, joka puolestaan on laakeroitu tässä lähemmin esittämättömällä tavalla koteloon 50 käyttäakselilla 38. Tässä lähemmin esittämättömällä painelaitteella 40 voidaan liikkuvaan kitkakenkään 16 kohdistaa painetta nuolen P suunnassa .
Laitteen toimintatapa on seuraava:
Ensiksi säädetään kiilalistoja 51 ja 52 pitkittäin siirtämällä urien 19 ja 22 leveys yhdistettävien muovinauhojen 17 ja 18 leveyden mukaiseksi. Sen jälkeen nauhat 17 ja 18 sijoitetaan päällekkäin laitteeseen 10 ja kiristetään. Tällöin voi ylempi nauhanpää 17 ulottua liikkuvan kitkakengän 16 etureunan yli, mutta se voi kulloisenkin halutunmittai-sen hitsausalueen mukaan päättyä jossakin kauempana takana olevassa paikassa. Tällöin liikkuva kitkakenkä 16 on koko pinnaltaan ylemmällä nauhanpäällä niin, että sen vastinpinta nauhanpäällä 17 on suurempi kuin hitsausalue, jossa nauhanpäät päällekkäisillä pinnoillaan heikke-nevät, ja ilmenee materiaalin sulamista.
Kun käyttövoima on kytketty päälle, käyttöakseli 38 kiertyy ja epäkesko 37 saattaa kiertokangen 36 edestakaiseen liikkeeseen. Täten liikkuva kitkakenkä 15 liikkuu akselitappinsa 25 ympäri edestakaisin, jolloin samanaikaisesti kitkakenkään 16 kohdistetaan painelaitteella 40 painetta P. Liikkuvan kitkakengän 16 liikkuessa edestakaisin otetaan urassa 22 oleva ylempi nauha mukaan ja sitä liikutetaan alla olevaa 69592 4 nauhaa 18 vasten edestakaisin paineenalaisena. Täten aikaansaadaan ylemmän nauhanpään pituudelle akselitappia 25 kohden vähenevä kitka-lämpö, joka sulattaa nauhanpäiden vastakkaispinnat ja hitsaa ne keskenään yhteen.
Tässä yhteydessä on mainittava, että urien 19 ja 22 syvyys t on vähän pienempi kuin nauhanpäiden 17 ja 18 paksuus niin, että edestakaisen liikkeen aikana vain nauhanpäät eivätkä kitkakengät ovat vastakkain.
Koska poikkeama liikkuvan kitkakengän 16 etureunassa 59 on oleellisesti suurempi kuin takareunassa akselitapin 25 takareunalla, on myös toisiinsa kitkatartunnassa olevien muovinauhojen 17 ja 18 lämpeneminen liikkuvan kitkakengän vapaan pään 59 lähellä suurempi kuin akselitapin 25 lähellä. Täten kummankin nauhanpään sisäisen sulamisen vyöhyke päättyy yleensä siellä missä nauhat ovat ilman hitsausta.
Keksintö ei rajoitu vain suoritusesimerkkiin. Esimerkiksi kitkakengät voivat olla jossakin määrin erimuotoisia ja liikkuvan kitkakengän kiertoliike olla järjestetty erilailla. On myös mahdollista muuttaa yhdistettäviä nauhoja varten tarkoitettujen urien leveyttä eri laittein ilman, että täten ylitettäisiin keksinnön puitteita.

Laite (10) päällekkäisten termoplastisten muovinauhojen (17, 18) yhteenhitsaamiseksi paineella ja kitkalämmöllä, johon laitteeseen kuuluu kiinteät ja liikkuvat nauhan pituussuunnassa olevat kitkakengät (15, 16), jotka ovat puristettavissa yhteen ja jolloin liikkuvat kitkakengät ovat kierrettävissä hitsausta-soon nähden kohtisuoran akselin ympäri, tunnettu siitä, että laitteeseen kuuluu vain yksi liikkuva kitkakenkä (16), joka pidättelee yhtä nauhanpäätä (17) ja kiertyy yhdessä sen kanssa ja jonka vastinpinta tätä nauhanpäätä vasten on suurempi kuin hitsausalue.
2. Patenttivaatimuksen 1 mukainen laite, tunnettu siitä, että liikkuva kitkakenkä (16) tarttuu sivuttain nauhanpää-hän (17).
3. Patenttivaatimuksen 1 tai 2 mukainen laite, tunnettu siitä, että kitkakenkien (15, 16) vastakkain olevilla puolilla on leveydeltään (B) säädeltävät urat (19 ja 22).
4. Jonkin patenttivaatimuksen 1-3 mukainen laite, tunnettu siitä, että kitkakenkien (15, 16) urien (19, 22) leveys (B) on säädeltävissä kiilalistoilla (51, 52), jotka muodostavat kulloisenkin uran (19, 22) sivureunan ja ovat lukittavissa eri asentoihin.
