Abstract
The process consists of (a) prepg. the salts necessary for human nutrition; (b) combining these with nutrients contg. proteins and fats; (c) subjecting the mixt. to a cooking process; and (d) incorporating the necessary vitamins into the mass, shaped into biscuits, pre-cooked flour or expandible rusks. The vitamins are dissolved in water, and the oil-soluble vitamins in vegetable oil, both solns. emulsified together using an emulsifying agent of sorbitan ester or ethoxylated deriv., the emulsion diluted with water and used as a fine spray to moisten the nutrient mass. The prod. is suitable for help to communities suffering from hunger.
