Abstract

The invention relates to a clutch release mechanism (10) with an actuating element (14) and an engagement element (12) which is in engagement with a release device (13). The actuating element (14) has a sleeve (30) which, at its forward end, has, on the one hand, a continuous annular bearing surface (32) and, on the other hand, two fixing elements (33, 33') which project axially and lie diametrically opposite one another, extending in the circumferential direction over a circular sector and having a radially bent portion (34, 34'). In this way, these fixing elements define, together with the abovementioned bearing surface, two receptacles (35, 35') for a ball bearing (20) which supports the said engagement element. The invention likewise relates to a method for assembling such a clutch release mechanism. In this method, the engagement element (12) is first of all mounted on the release device (13), and the sleeve (30) is then pushed onto the ball bearing (20) of the engagement element by means of the fixing elements. The area of application is in clutches, in particular for heavy lorries.
