CONSISTE EN HIDROLIZAR UNA OXANOSINA PROTEGIDA EN -O-2K DE FORMULA (II), ELIMINANDO CON ELLO EL/LOS GRUPO(S) PROTECTOR(ES), MEDIANTE CALENTAMIENTO A 40JC O MAS, A REFLUJO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN ACIDO, COMO EL CLORHIDRICO O EL ACETICO, PARA OBTENER UNA OXANOSINA DE FORMULA (I). SIENDO: R1 GRUPO PROTECTOR DEL GRUPO HIDROXILO DE TIPO ETER CICLICO; R2 Y R3, CADA UNO UN ATOMO DE H O UN GRUPO PROTECTOR, ESTANDO R1 Y R2 OPCIONALMENTE ENLAZADOS PARA FORMAR UN ANILLO DE TIPO ALQUILIDENO, COMO ISOPROPILIDENO, P-ANISILIDENO Y OTROS.
