PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE DERIVADOS DE 24-CICLOPROPILCOLENO-3~J,22-DIOLES, DE FORMULA (I), EN LA QUE EL ENLACE ENTRE C<5 Y C<6 PUEDE SER DOBLE O SENCILLO; Y R<1 Y R<2 PUEDEN SER VARIOS TIPOS DE RADICALES. CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE 3 -ACETOXI-22,24-BISNORCOL-5-EN-22-AL CON UN REACTIVO DE FORMULA (II). LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO EN TETRAHIDROFURANO ENFRIANDO A -10 C, BAJO ATMOSFERA DE NITROGENO. EL PRODUCTO OBTENIDO SE SEPARA POR EXTRACCION CON ETER, SE CONCRETA, FILTRA Y PURIFICA POR RECRISTALIZACION EN UNA MEZCLA DE DICLOROMETANO/METANOL. ESTOS COMPUESTOS TIENEN APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS POR SU ACTIVIDAD PARA CONTROLAR LA HIPERCOLESTEROLEMIA.
