EL PROCEDIMIENTO SE CARACTERIZA PORQUE EL AGENTE REFRIGERANTE O LOS AGENTES REFRIGERANTES SE APLICAN EN CHORROS DE ROCIADO PARALELAMENTE AL EJE LONGITUDINAL DEL MATERIAL METALICO; Y PORQUE CADA CHORRO DE ROCIADO SE APLICA CON MAYOR VELOCIDAD CUANDO EL ANGULO DE INCLINACION DE DICHO CHORRO CON RESPECTO A LA SUPERFICIE DEL MATERIAL METALICO ES PEQUEÑO, Y CON MENOR VELOCIDAD CUANDO DICHO ANGULO DE INCLINACION AUMENTA.
