Abstract
The bed assembly can be converted into a seat and consists of three foldable parts. The parts can be oriented to provide three superimposed couchettes for night similar to a sleeping car (2) or two superimposed units similar to a first class sleeping car (3). Alternatively, in a day arrangement the upper bed is folded against the wall, and the two lower beds are folded down to be used as a seat. The upper bed seat can have decorations (3) beneath to show when folded up. The lower bed (4) has incorporated with it a back (5) and also arm rests for use when converted into a chair. One bed can have a telescopic supporting device (25).
