CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR MONOXIDO DE CARBONO BAJO PRESION CON ESTERES CARBOXILICOS DE FORMULA R<024>CO<024>OR. LA REACCION TIENE LUGAR EN UN MEDIO DISOLVENTE SELECCIONADO ENTRE AMIDAS DE ACIDOS CARBOXILICOS Y EN PRESENCIA DE UN SISTEMA CATALITICO CONSTITUIDO POR UN YODURO DE ALQUILO O DE ACILO, NIQUEL Y UN COCATALIZADOR FORMAD POR AL MENOS UNA SAL ALCALINA O ALCALINOTERREA. LA AMIDA EMPLEADA COMO DISOLVENTE ES N-METILPIRROLIDONA-2, LA CUAL REPRESENTA AL MENOS UN 10% EN VOLUMEN DEL MEDIO REACTIVO. EL COCATALIZADOR EMPLEADO ES PREFERENTEMENTE UNA SAL DE LITIO, SODIO O POTASIO. LA CANTIDAD DE NIQUEL OSCILA ENTRE 5 Y 2000 MILIATOMOS-GRAMO DE NIQUEL POR LITRO DE MEDIO REACTIVO.
