Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the control device for applying a separately excited generating brake to the electric motor vehicle with a small-capacity exciter by maintaining the output current at a predetermined value under the control of the current flow rate of the first chopper and continuously controlling the field current by the second chopper. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage is applied through a pantograph Pan from a trolley wire to the vehicle, the current flow rate is controlled via first thyristor chopers CH1, CH2, and the output current is controlled to a predetermined value. On the other hand, the armature M of a main motor is connected to a generating brake resistor BRe of a fixed resistor RB. The field current IF of the field MF is controlled by the second chopper FCH. Thus, the control capacity of the second chopper FCH can be reduced.
