Abstract

Se describe un dispositivo de catéter capaz de indicar inmediatamente la circulación inversa de la sangre durante la perforación de una vena y que, además, indica la entrada positiva en un vaso sanguineo. El indicador de circulación inversa en el catéter utiliza un catéter situado sobre la aguja con un paso de fluído entre el catéter y la aguja y, bien una abertura dispuesta a través de la aguja y que comunica entre el canal de la aguja y el paso de fluído al exterior de la aguja, o bien una abertura a través del catéter, en comunicación con el paso del fluído. De una manera preferida, unas tiras opacas dispuestas longitudinalmente se extienden sobre el paso del fluído entre el catéter y la aguja para proporcionar un "efecto termómetro" con el fin de ampliar eficazmente o dar una indicación rápida de la circulación de la sangre. Contrariamente a los dispositivos de la técnica anterior, el indicador de circulación inversa está situado en la proximidad del punto de perforación de la aguja para proporcionar una indicación inmediata de la penetración en un vaso sanguineo.
