Abstract

Un procedimiento para la producción de un catalizador de plata de gran actividad para la epoxidación en fase de vapor del etileno con un gas que contiene oxígeno, cuyo procedimiento consiste en poner en contacto un material de soporte catalítico, inorgánico y poroso , con una o más soluciones impregnantes y calentar el material de soporte impregnado a temperaturas comprendidas aproximadamente entre 50ºC y 300ºC para evaporar las sustancias volátiles y activar dicho catalizador, caracterizado porque la solución o soluciones impregnantes están constituidas por a) una sal de plata, b) un agente solubilizante/reductor formado por una amida orgánica. c) una sal de cesio, rubidio o una mezcla de las mismas y d) un disolvente acuoso y la superficie del catalizador es posteriormente abradida para remover alrededor del 1 al 10% del peso del catalizador.
