Abstract

Procedimiento mejorado para la preparación de 4- metil-2-aminobenzotiazol, a partir de orto- totiltioruea con cloro como reactivo de cierre del anillo, caracterizado porque la otro- toliltiourea se suspende, en una dilución de 3 a 40 veces , en cloruro de metileno y se hace reaccionar a temperaturas de entre -20ºC y +15ª ce introduciendo de 1 a 2 moles de cloro por mol de ortor-toliltiourea, en ausencia de un catalizador, para formar el clorhidrato de 4-metil - 2-aminobenzotiazol y el clorhidrato en agua se transforma con un álcali en el 4-meti-2- aminobenzotiazo.
