Abstract

Un procedimiento de construcción de por lo menos ciertas zonas de la parte superior de la pared refractaria de un horno de arco eléctrico siderúrgico que no está en contacto prolongado con el baño líquido metálico, implicando la utilización de elementos refrigeradores de una materia buena conductora del calor, caracterizado porque se yuxtaponen, de forma alternada, bloques de un material refractario a base de óxidos y bloques de grafito, extendiéndose estos bloques desde la cara interna a la cara externa de la pared refractaria y estando los bloques que forman una hilera desplazados con relación a los bloques que constituyen las hileras adyacentes de forma que cada bloque de grafito esté rodeado por bloques de material refractario a base de óxidos.
