Abstract

In an oscillating motor with fluid drive, the shaft (6) is mounted in the motor housing (1), which is provided with an annular space (18) concentrically surrounding the said shaft. The space (18) is divided into two chambers by two vanes (19, 20), one (20) of which is secured on the housing (1) and the other (19) is secured on the shaft (6). The lines (31, 32) feeding in and carrying away the driving fluid open into the chambers on both sides of the vane (19, 20) fixed to the housing or to the shaft. In order to keep down the production costs and provide good sealing of the motor, the shaft (6) carries a radial disk (13) which is provided with a groove (15) of semicircular cross-section concentrically surrounding it. With its flat front face provided with the groove (15), the disk (13) rests flat on a flat radial base surface of the housing (2), which base surface has a corresponding encircling groove (16) of semicircular cross-section which, with the groove (15) of the disk (13) forms a centrally divided toroidal annular space (18). Arranged in the groove (15) of the disk and in the groove (16) of the housing end is in each case a vane (19, 20) which has the shape of a sector of a torus and the circular cross-section of which has a radius which corresponds to the radius of the grooves (15, 16). Good sealing is achieved by virtue of the fact that those flat surfaces of the disk (13) and of the housing (1) which adjoin the annular grooves (15, 16) are pressed sealingly against one another.
