Abstract
Rotating shaft sealing device that extends through a hole formed in a housing and is exposed to great forces that give rise to bending of said shaft, said sealing device including two friction joints between the rotating shaft and the housing defining a sealing chamber to which a sealing fluid is supplied which is maintained at a sufficiently high pressure to ensure only the passage of said sealing fluid through said friction joints, characterized in that said friction joints 12 they consist of a sealing ring 34 which can rotate with said shaft 18 and which has radial sealing faces on its opposite sides and axially movable sealing elements 48, 50, hermetic with respect to the housing 14 and which have sealing faces opposite in contact with the opposite radial sealing faces of said sealing ring ueity 34, said sealing system allowing large radial deflections of said shaft 18 without producing large axial movements of said axially mobile sealing elements, 48, 50.
