Abstract

Perfeccionamiento en los soportes refrigerados por líquido para la punta de un electrodo de un horno eléctrico de fusión, del tipo que comprenden una pieza cilíndrica de fijación, sujetable al brazo portaelectrodo, un sistema de refrigeración metálico portador de la corriente eléctrica para el electrodo y sujetado a la pieza de fijación, que lleva en el extremo libre una pieza roscada para el enroscamiento de la punta de electrodo, y una pantalla térmica tubular que rodea a distancia el sistema de refrigeración, caracterizados en que la pantalla térmica está constituida por un tubo metálico (11, 11a) que está aislado eléctricamente del sistema de refrigeración (3, 3a) conductor de la corriente eléctrica y que por mediación de una substancia refractaria (17, 17a) situada entre el sistema de refrigeración y el tubo metálico es suficientemente enfriable para mantener su temperatura, al introducir el soporte en el horno eléctrico de fusión a un nivel inferior a la temperatura de reblandecimiento del material de que está hecho el tubo metálico.
