Abstract
A pair of telescopically arranged shaft parts (6, 11), are each provided with longitudinally arranged splines (7) whereby torque may be transmitted from one shaft part to the other, the inner shaft part (6) being so dimensioned that its outer diameter (D) divided by its inner diameter (d) is less than or equal to 1.2. Such a shaft assembly may be incorporated in a cardan shaft of sufficient strength while considerably reducing the weight thereof, relatively to shafts of prior art.
