Abstract
Un procedimiento de preparación de un fertilizante granular de NPK a partir de una sal de potasio, nitrato de amonio, fosfato de amonio y, si así se desea, otros componentes fertilizantes, caracterizado porque: I, se tritura una sal gruesa de potasio elegida de entre cloruro de potasio y sulfato de potasio hasta obtener un producto con un tamaño medio de partícula de a lo sumo 55 micras y que contiene a lo sumo 1% en peso de partículas de más de 150 micras; II, se añade sin precalentamiento alguno esta sal de potasio triturada, teniendo una temperatura comprendida entre 5 y 40ºC, particularmente entre 10 y 25ºC, a un sistema elegido de entre a) una masa fundida o solución que contiene nitrato de amonio, tras lo cual se añade o añaden a la mezcla de NK líquida resultante fosfato de amonio y, si así se desea, otros componentes fertilizantes, eligiéndose el contenido de agua y la cantidad de los materiales de partida de tal manera que la mezcla de NPK líquida resultante contenga a lo sumo 10%en peso de agua, y b) una mezcla líquida de nitrato de amonio, fosfato de amonio, y, si así se desea, otros componentes fertilizantes, conteniendo a lo sumo 10% en peso de agua y preparada por mezcla de los componentes o por amoniacación de mezclas que contienen ácido fosfórico y ácido nítrico y/o nitrato de amonio; III, se convierte directamente n gránulos la mezcla de NPK líquida resultante; IV, se recogen los gránulos resultantes y se enfrían y tamizan los mismos separándolos en una fracción de tamaño superior, que se fragmenta, una fracción de tamaño inferior y una fracción de tamaño justo; V, se reciclan la fracción de tamaño inferior y la fracción de tamaño superior fragmentada; y VI, se recoge la fracción de tamaño justo como gránulos de producto que tienen una alta resistencia a la rotura, particularmente por encima de 50 kg/cm(sup, 2), y que muestran una pequeña desintegración durante su almacenamiento y manipulación.
