Abstract

In a transfer system of articles, esp. the outer boxes of matchboxes, to a conveyor the outer boxes are centred and moved along by a pair of endless belts which contact their sides. A synchronising device at the discharge end consists of two cam discs with cut-outs which grip behind the lagging wall of a box. The belt contact is slack enough to allow the belt to slide between the box movement cycles. The articles are thus first kept in a fast uniform motion, followed by their synchronised transfer to a processing conveyor.
