Abstract
The rotor has at least one cage winding and relatively narrow stray paths adjoining the inner slots (working slots) of the cage. These paths deviate from a radial direction over at least part of their length in order to reduce the distance they extend radially. The paths are located along a basic line whose direction is determined by the endpoints of the paths, i.e. the points where they meet the slots. The advantages lies in distributing the magnetic utilisation of the rotor more evenly without increasing path length and yoke depth, thereby increasing power factor and efficiency.
