Abstract
Arrangement for sealing an opening in a solar collector through which a header passes and for maintaining the integrity of the seal during movement of the header due to expansion and contraction thereof. A generally cylindrical resilient member 48 compressively engages an adapter member 47 defining the opening at a first annulus of contact and tapers to compressively engage the header 29 at a second annulus of contact. For connecting and sealing the headers of adjacent collectors the ends 32, 33 of the headers are maintained in alignment by a nipple 62 inserted thereinto and a seal is provided by a resilient tubular member 63 clamped to the ends 32, 33.
