Abstract
Un dispositivo conectador para unir fibras ópticas en relación de extremo, que comprende un manguito de material recuperable por calor que ha sido hecho a partir de un cuerpo cambiado desde una forma dimensionalmente estable al calor a una forma dimensionalmente inestable al calor para recibir las fibras interiormente, caracterizado porque el cuerpo ha sido cambiado desde la forma estable a la forma inestable por alargamiento axial y contracción radial del cuerpo y subsiguientemente se le ha hecho un agujero para la recepción de las fibras y está situado dentro de un manguito de confinamiento exterior destinado a impedir la expansión radial completa del cuerpo a su forma original estable al calor sujetando con ello las fibras en el agujero.
