Abstract

Procedimiento para la separación de dióxido de azufre de una corriente gaseosa de combustión, que contiene sólidos partículados incluyendo cenizas volantes en un lavador en húmedo dotado de una zona de pileta que contiene una lechada acuosa, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) pasar la corriente gaseosa a través de lavador en húmedo para separar SO2 (b) inyectar por separado y directamente un reactante en le lavador para mezclarse con la lechada acuosa en la pileta, para formar, inter alia, sulfito de calcio y sulfato de calcio, teniendo dicha lechada un pH mantenidos en un valor de 6- 8,5 aproximadamente, © descargar al menos una porción de la lechada del lavador, (d) sangar una porción de la lechada descargada para mantener una cantidad controlada de la lechada con u contenido en sólidos de 5-40% en peso aproximadamente de los cuales al menos un 5- 25% (e) reciclar dicha cantidad controlada de lechada conteniendo cenizas volantes al lavador y ponerla en contacto con la lechada acuosa para proporcionar punto de nucleación para la formación de cristales de sulfito de calcio y sulfato de calcio y (f) co-precipitar cristales de sulfito y sulfato de calcio sobre las cenizas volantes, manteniendo con ello un nivel de sulfato de calcio sustancialmente insaturado en la lechada acuosa, reduciendo al mínimo la deposición de cascarilla sobre las superficies del lavador.
