Abstract

Un procedimiento de digestión de lodo que comprende las etapas de: (a) introducir dicho lodo y gas de alimentación de aireación que comprende por lo menos 20 por ciento de oxígeno (en volumen) en una primera zona de digestión y mezclarlos en ella en cantidad y con la velocidad suficientes para la digestión aerobia del lodo, (b) continuar la digestión aerobia de la etapa (a) durante un tiempo de permanencia de lodo (duración) entre 4 y 48 horas para reducir parcialmente el contenido de sólidos en suspensión volátiles biodegradables del lodo (c) digerir anaeróbicamente el lodo estabilizado parcialmente descargado de dicha primera zona de digestión en una segunda zona de digestión cubierta, y (d) descargar el lodo estabilizado adicionalmente y dicho gas metano de dicha segunda zona de digestión.
