Abstract

PURPOSE: In a device for treating organic waste water of high concentration under anaerobic condition and recovering digestion gas as an energy source, to keep C/N ratio (carbon/nitrogen ratio) at an optimal level by controlling the feeds of organic waste water rich in carbon and organic waste water rich in nitrogen.
CONSTITUTION: There are separately provided a reservoir 1 for organic material A and a reservoir 2 for organic material B, and the materials A and B are fed to methanc fermenters 5 and 11 respectively. The C/N ratios in the fermenters 5 and 11 are measured by measuring devices 6 and 12, and the outputs are fed to a memory unit 4 for comparison of the measurements with an optimal C/N ratio prememorized in the unit 4. Feed amount controllers 3 and 10 are so controlled that the material of lower C/N ratio is fed in the case where the measured C/N ratio is larger than the optimal C/N ratio and that the material of higher C/N ratio is fed in the reverse case. Digestion gas and waste water are fed to a tank 14 and waste water treatment device 15 respectively.
