Abstract
Conjuntos de combustible para reactores y, más particularmente, a un método para introducir y recibir barras de combustible dentro de estructuras de espaciado y soporte de placas de rejilla, especialmente para espaciar y soportar lateralmente los elementos de combustible de un conjunto de combustible. En los reactores nucleares heterogéneos, frecuentemente se mantiene el combustible nuclear separadamente del moderador y enfriador envainando el combustible en tubos cilíndricos de pared delgada denominados elementos o barras de combustible. Grupos de barras de combustible múltiples, pueden estar espaciados en disposiciones cuidadosamente diseñadas y soportados lateralmente en distintos puntos a lo largo de sus ejes longitudinales por rejillas de placas que se intersectan y se traban en forma de una caja de huevos para formar una cuadrícula celular. Se aloja una barra de combustible en cada una de las celdas así formadas en la estructura de rejilla. Por lo general, salientes o similares que sobresalen de la superficie de las partes de las placas se apoyan en la superficie exterior de la barra de combustible dentro de una celda determinada, sirviendo para soportar la barra e impidiendo el movimiento de la barra.
