Abstract

Apparatus for heating yarns to effect shrinkage, wherein the yarns (4) are fed by a first delivery device (6) from a yarn store (1, 2, 3) to a heat treatment device (7), and from there through a cooling zone (18) to a winding device (22, 23) by a second delivery device (16), wherein the beat treatment device comprises a plurality of adjacently disposed beating tubes (8, 9, 10) and guide rollers (12, 13, 14, 15) rotatably mounted at the ends thereof for selectively guiding the yarns to be treated through at least one of these heating tubes so that the length of heat treatment can be adjusted.
