Abstract

Procedimiento para obtener a escala industrial óxidos metálicos a partir de sustancias de partida impurificadas, especialmente de óxido de magnesio, en el que estas sustancias de partida son disueltas primeramente en ácido clorhídrico y a partir de la salmuera de cloruro metálico obtenida de esta manera después de un tratamiento previo de la misma, en el curso del cual se efectúa una concentración de la salmuera, mediante descomposición térmica en un horno se forma óxido metálico puro y cloruro de hidrógeno, llevándose los gases de escape del horno de descomposición, que contienen el cloruro de hidrógeno a contacto íntimo con la salmuera que ha de concentrarse para la concentración de la salmuera, que se caracteriza porque la salmuera que ha de concentrarse se rocía en el gas de escape circulante, recogiéndose las gotitas de salmuera, después de haber pasado por la corriente de gas de escape, y por lo menos una parte de la salmuera recogida de esta manera se rocía nuevamente una o varias veces en el gas de escape circulante, se recoge después de pasar por la corriente de gas de escape y se introduce en la salida común de la salmuera concentrada, manteniéndose el valor de pH de la salmuera concentrada que sale en un margen elegido previamente mediante regulación de la cantidad de la salmuera sometida al rociado repetido en la corriente de gas de escape.
