Abstract

Perfeccionamientos en sensores electroquímicos para la medición simultánea y continua de PO2 y PCO2 en fluidos, caracterizados porque cada sensor se forma por: (a) una cámara electródica que tiene en su interior un primer electrodo sensible a los cambios de pH producidos por la presencia de dióxido de carbono; un segundo electrodo capaz de reducir oxígeno electroquímicamente; un electrodo de referencia para cada uno de los electrodos primero y segundo o bien común a ambos; medios para que el primer electrodo, el segundo electrodo y el electrodo de referencia estén separado, entre sí y aislados; y un electrolito en contacto con el electrodo de referencia y con el primer y el segundo electrodo; y (b) una membrana permeable al oxígeno y dióxido de carbono, dotada de un primer lado y de un segundo lado, estando el primer lado en contacto con el electrolito y el segundo disponible para su exposición a los gases de dióxido de carbono y oxígeno del fluido a ensayar, manteniendo la membrana al electrolito en contacto con los electrodos y proporcionando la entrada de oxígeno y dióxido de carbono gaseosos en el electrólito; siendo también dicha membrana permeable al agua cuando el electróltio alcalino es sólido.
