Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de un copolímero de acrilato, por polimerización de una mezcla monómera que consiste en 35-60% en moles de estireno y/o alfa-metil- estireno, 20-60% en moles de ácido acrílico y/o ácido metacrílico y 0-30% en moles de lo más compuestos monovinílicos distintos, a una temperatura de 60º a 200ºC en presencia de un iniciador de radicales, después de lo cual el producto de reacción resultante se hace reaccionar resultante se hace reaccionar con un éster glicidílico de un ácido carboxílico de la fórmula general: **Fórmula** en la que R representa un grupo alcohilo que tiene 4 a 10 átomos de carbono, caracterizado porque la polimerización de los compuestos monómeros se lleva a cabo en presencia de un ácido mercaptomonocarboxílico y/o ácido mercaptodicarboxílico que contienen 2 a 8 átomos de carbono, en calidad de regulador de la longitud de la cadena, en una cantidad de 0,02 a 0,25 moles por cada mol de los compuestos monómeros.
