Abstract

Un procedimiento mejorado para la preparación de acrilonitrilo o metacrilonitrilo, que comprende hacer reaccionar propileno o isobutileno, oxígeno molecular y amoníaco, a una temperatura de alrededor de 200ºC a 600ºC en presencia de un catalizador, consistiendo la mejora en usar como catalizador uno de fórmula **(Fórmula)** donde J es un metal alcalino, talio, plata o sus mezclas; Q es Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ra, o sus mezclas; Z es un sistema de dos o más elementos que comprende Ge+Sb, Cu + W, Cu + Sn, Ce + W, Pr + Mn, Sn + Mn, Mn + W, W + Sb, Cr + Sn, W + Sn, Ge + Sn, Sb + Sn, W + P, Sb + P, Cr + Cu, Mn + Cu, Sb + Cu, Mn + P, o mezclas de los mismos, con la condición de que dicho catalizador está exento de T1 cuando Z es Mn + P; D es Bi o Te, y donde 0 **(Fórmula)** tiene un valor tal que se satisface el requerimiento de valencia de los elementos del catalizador para el oxígeno, estando presente cada elemento de dicho sistema de dos o más elementos en una cantidad de al menos 1 átomo pro ciento basado en los átomos del sistema.
