Abstract

A compound of the formula: < IMAGE > or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkanoyl group, a lower alkylcarbamoyl group, a lower alkylthiocarbamoyl group or a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, R<1> represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, each of R<2> and R<3> represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group which may be substituted by at least one substituent at any position(s) on the phenyl nucleus, each substituent being independently selected from a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a hydroxy group and a nitro group, or R<2> and R<2> together form an alkylene group. Such compounds are useful as anti-hypertensive agents.
