Abstract
Procedimiento para el tratamiento de una suspensión acuosa de un copolímero granulado de cloruro de vinilo y acetato de vinilo, producido a partir de una reacción de copolimerización entre los monómeros en suspensión acuosa y en cuyo método, después del final de la reacción de copolimerización, se libera la presión en un recipiente que contiene la suspensión acuosa mediante ventilación y la suspensión se caliente entonces en un recipiente bajo condiciones tales de temperatura y presión que exista un flujo vaporoso de vapor de agua, cloruro de vinilo residual y acetato de vinilo residual que sale del recipiente; caracterizado porque a la suspensión acuosa se añade, antes del inicio de dicho calentamiento pero después del final de la reacción de copolimerización, una cantidad eficaz de al menos un fenol volátil como el vapor de agua de manera que se evite sustancialmente la polimerización del acetato de vinilo del flujo de salida.
