Abstract

The problems of the use of porous non-woven fabric with flexible drainage containers have been overcome by holding the textile in the retaining ring of the flexible container with a flexible fixing ring. The flexible fastening ring is made of a material, for example, polyethylene, which can be easily welded to the retaining ring or flexible container. The porous non-woven fabric is attached to the flexible fastening ring or bag in a circular area extending radially outwardly from the heat sealed area between the fastening ring and the retaining ring or bag. The fixing between the microporous reinforcing sheet and the fixing ring can be done with a heat-sealable adhesive which is applied either to the fixing ring or to the reinforcing sheet, or to both. For example, an adhesive that melts under the effect of heat in the fixing ring can be used so that while in the molten state it flows into the pores of the textile and ensures a good adhesive and mechanical bond between the fixing ring and the microporous sheet. The force tending to separate the retaining ring of the flexible container from the microporous adhesive patch is opposed by the heat-sealed fixing between the flexible plastic fixing ring and the plastic retaining ring or the bag, and the heat-sealed connection between these parts. It is extremely strong and is able to withstand normal tearing forces. Since the fixing ring is flexible, the fixing ring and the textile will be lengthened linearly or in a plane in the area of connection between the fixing ring and the textile. The force tending to separate the fixing ring and the adhesive patch is essentially a shearing force which is aligned with the planes of the fixing ring and the patch in the area of the joint, and although the microporous coating is easy to tear, it has sufficient strength to resist these linearly oriented forces of the magnitude it normally encounters. It has been proven that microporous patches provide better skin adhesion than non-porous polyethylene tape, since breathable patches do not trap moisture between the patch and the skin. In addition, the fixing ring can be used as a moisture barrier around the hole of the bag when a retaining ring is not used. (Machine-translation by Google Translate, not legally binding)
