Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a VTR which can obtain beautiful reproduced pictures by preventing the noise from being generated due to the inter-trunk cross-stroke at a reproduction time when SECAM color video signals are recorded at a high density. CONSTITUTION:In reproducing SECAM color video signals from a recording medium where SECAM color chrominance signals are recorded in the carrier frequency or the phase interleaving mutually between one adjacent track and the other, circuits 11 to 34 of the recording system and circuits 41 to 56 of the reproducing system are provided, and AFC circuit 60 which converts the carrier frequency or the phase of reproduced chrominance signals to a prescribed state, head servo- circuit 80, control circuit 100, and control signal forming and phase regulating circuits 110, 120 and 130 are provided. In reproducing system circuits 41 to 56 of this constitution, circuit 54 provided with delay circuit 54D which delays chrominance signals made into a prescribed state during two horizontal periods and adder circuit 54W which adds delay signals and chrominance signals at the level ratio different from each other is provided.
